Hurricane Logan / Rita

It has been an interesting week. It all started Monday morning when we discovered that Hurricane Rita had taken an unexpected turn and was headed for the Gulf. It was then predicted to strengthen and come to the Corpus Christi area. Around Wednesday the city ordered a mandatory evacuation despite the projections for landfall changing northward daily. If the hurricane came we had decided that we would head to Liz’s parents house down south and hope for the best. The good news for us is that it didn’t come here (bad news for north Texans).

We did have our moment of panic where we were trying to decide what we should take with us and what we could not replace. It is not fun to be faced with these considerations and the realization that your home may not be there when you return. OK enough of this depressing chatter.

Logan decided that he would help in the hurricane preps and take the items that he felt were important.

“Don’t forget my chair Dad. DAD! OK fine, I’ll take it myself.”

Beside the hurricane not coming there was another added bonus. A four day weekend! We decided we would make use of the time and head down to Grandma and Grandpa’s. Hurricane Logan was then unleashed and had free rein to do whatever he wanted. One of his projects while he was there was to help Grandma rearrange the tupperware cupboard.

It was also felt by Grandma that Logan was a big boy and ready to move on to the sippy cup.

Our last stop was to Ronnie and Tracy’s where Logan fell in love with Bell. Unfortunately, Bell is a Pug. I hope your taste in girls improves over the years Son.

He may have unmatured taste in women, but he already has good taste in movies!
"All I need is this chair and this coffee mug and this lamp ... and that's all I need!" The Jerk.
