Never thought I would be so happy to see the digits on the thermostat, but it happened yesterday morning which brings the grand total of powerless days to 14. Thanks to a 5500 watt generator and enough fuel to fill a tanker ship we managed to get buy. After spending all that money on gas for the generator I don’t think I will be complaining about my electric bill anytime soon. I think their way is whole lot cheaper.

Andres & I are glad to hear that you're safely powered back up after 14 long days! Ike was quite the welcoming committee for us-- we'd just been here about two weeks before it came... On the bright side, my coworkers tell me that now I can call myself a real Houstonian (since I've survived a hurricane). Does that mean I have to start saying "y'all"? ;-)
